Backcountry Rifle Elk Hunt
Clothes to Bring for Hunt
1 Light weight long sleeve
2-3 Light weight short sleeve
1 pair of jeans, sweats, or shorts for time at camp
1 pair of light weight camo hunting pants
1 pair of medium hunting pants for cooler/wetter days
Belt if needed for pants
3-6 pairs of heavier socks for cold and wet days/nights
6 pairs of lighter socks for day to day wear
1 pair of tennis shoes for time at camp/lodge
1 pair of high quality (water-resistant/waterproof) and broke in hiking boots for hunting
Underwear (You know how stinky you’ll get, bring what you need!)
1 pair of lighter base layer or thermals
1 pair of heavy/warm base layer
1 camo beanie or camo baseball cap
1 medium to heavier duty camo hunting jacket for day to day wear
1 sweater (optional)
1 set of medium to heavy duty rain gear (pants and jacket with hoody)
Personal Items
1 Sleeping bag (At least rated for 25-32 degree weather, it cools off a lot at night)
Toothbrush, toothpaste
Any necessary medications needed
Multiple sets of dude wipes for hygiene
